We work on all kinds of problems broadly related to networked people and systems, with focus on the theoretical underpinnings and the design of smart algorithms. Examples of our topics of interest include: network tomography and related network state inference, edge computing and related resource provisioning problems, low-cost flow configuration and reconfiguration in software-define networking (SDN), distributed machine learning in the context of edge computing, workload scheduling in complex cloud computing systems, management of large dynamic networks using online learning, control of autonomous helper nodes (a.k.a. data ferries) in delay-tolerant networking (DTN), and novel information processing applications (e.g., non-parametric change detection, timing analysis, transient signal detection) in wireless sensor networks.
