Our work on “It’s Hard to Share: Joint Service Placement and Request Scheduling in Edge Clouds with Sharable and Non-sharable Resources” was accepted to IEEE ICDCS 2018. This belongs to our continuous line of works on Mobile Edge Computing, from an optimization perspective. The key observation is that sharing resources across services, although improving system performance if done properly, dramatically increases the computational complexity in optimally allocating resources to the users.
